CCC TAMAZUNCHALE 1 POWER GENERATION PROJECT

The Combined Cycle Power Plant Tamazunchale 1 represented an investment of more than 500 million USD and will produce more than 1135 MW, being the largest plant of its type in Mexico to date.

The Spanish contractor, Iberinco, awarded Kentech the complete scope of electrical and instrumentation works.

This scope included the installation of the following systems:

  • Isolated phase bars
  • LV/MV transformers - 60
  • Batteries
  • MV/LV cabinets - 200
  • Cathodic protection
  • Cable trays / conduits 35/50km
  • MC/LV and control cabling - 1,000,000 mts
  • Earthing
  • Tubing and instrument installation
  • Communication

From the beginning of the contract, to contract completion, over 830,000 manhours were utilised, of which 100% was local manpower.  CCC Tamazunchale is now in full commercial operation and has been handed over to Iberdrola who have a 25 year O&M contract with CFE.
