SHAH DENIZ 2 & SCPX

In March 2016, Kentech Specialist Technical Services (STS) was awarded a major multidisciplinary commissioning technical services contract by BP covering electrical, instrumentation, telecommunications, HVAC, mechanical, fire and gas and piping.

The contract will see STS provide a fully managed service for the provision of qualified commissioning technicians in Azerbaijan (Shah Deniz 2 and SCPX) and Georgia (SCPX only) under a three (3) year contract.

Shah Deniz Stage 2, or Full Field Development (FFD) is a giant project that will add a further 16 billion cubic meters per year (bcma) of gas production to the approximately 9 bcma produced by Shah Deniz Stage 1.

The expansion of the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCPX) is part of the Shah Deniz Full Field Development project. This expansion involves the laying of new pipeline across Azerbaijan and the construction of two new compressor stations in Georgia. This will triple the gas volumes exported through the pipeline to over 20 billion cubic metres per year.

At the border between Georgia and Turkey, the pipeline will link into other new pipelines to provide gas into Turkey and the European Union.
