Kentech and Denholm Yam Consortium Secures Key Contract in Abu Dhabi

Kentech Abu Dhabi is very pleased to announce that the Consortium of Kentech and Denholm Yam (DYK) has been awarded a contract from Petrofac Emirates for the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning of the Substation Modules for the Island Surface Facilities Project (EPC 2) on the regions flagship offshore project, UZ 750.

Upper Zakum, which is owned and operated by Zadco, is the second largest offshore oilfield and fourth largest oilfield in the world and the current UZ750 project, with an overall estimated cost of $10bn, involves the modularised construction of a super complex housed on four artificial islands off the coast of Abu Dhabi.

The substation modules, which are a critical component of the overall project, will be fabricated in the Denholm Yam fabrication facility at Musaffah before being loaded out to the project location for the final Hook-Up and Commissioning.

Mark Barry, Business Manager for Kentech in the UAE, commented: "This is a very important project for Kentech in the UAE and we are pleased that Petrofac has selected the Consortium of Denholm Yam and Kentech to perform this aspect of the UZ 750 project. We look forward to working closely with Denholm Yam to successfully deliver this contract and we also look forward to further developing our relationship with Petrofac and Zadco."
