Abu Dhabi Polymers Company (Borouge) LLC, a subsidiary of Adnoc, has awarded Kentech International Limited Abu Dhabi a 3 year contract for the Operation, Maintenance & Repair Services for HVAC Equipment at Ruwais Plant.
Kentech shall carry out operations, predictive and preventive maintenance, repairs and overhauls for all heating, ventilation, refrigeration and air conditioning systems on the Borouge petrochemical facility at Ruwais, about 250 km west of Abu Dhabi city in the United Arab Emirates.
Borouge is a joint venture between the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), one of the world’s major oil and gas companies, and Austria based Borealis, a leading provider of chemical and innovative plastics solutions.
The production facility at Ruwais is central to Borouge's operations and by mid-2014 will have an annual production capacity of 4.5 million tonnes and will be home to the world’s largest integrated polyolefins plant.
This is Kentech’s first HVAC O&M contract in the UAE and follows the recent award of a similar contract in Qatar for Shell. These contracts build on the rapidly developing operations and maintenance capability within the Kentech Group, and provides a solid foundation for our long term ambitions in the Middle East.
Shane Donnachie, Vice President of Business Development for Kentech, commented: “This is a very important development for Kentech in the UAE and we are delighted that Borouge has selected us to perform these services. We look forward to working closely with Borouge to ensure the successful delivery of this contract and we also look forward to further developing our ties with the Adnoc group”.
