Kentech Awarded 2013 Sakhalin-1 Contractor of the Year

The Kentech team working on the Sakhalin-1 General Maintenance and Modifications contract have recently been awarded the 2013 Sakhalin-1 Contractor of the Year by their client Exxon Neftegas Limited (ENL).  The team previously won this award in 2011.

This achievement also comes off the back of reaching 900,000 executed manhours without a lost time incident on the project.  Kentech are also the first company to achieve and maintain 100% participation in ENL's Step Up to Safety Program.

The local management team pride themselves on promoting knowledge of safety systems by demonstrating fluency with HSE tools, systems and procedures.  They translate high level safety statistics, goals and objectives into tangible safety targets for site teams and they personally steward the safety participation recognition program and actively lead weekly site safety walkthroughs.

The site delivery team actively incorporate lessons learned from incidents, near misses and safety flashes in LMRAs.  They promote cross-functional awareness by presenting technical topics in rotating weekly safety meetings and provide guidance to positively influence new short service workers.

The Kentech team have been recognised for their quality work not only with the presentation of this award, but also with the extension of this contract. Originally awarded in 2008 for a period of 5 years, the contract was due to expire at the end of 2013 but has now been extended.
