Kentech Mexico Take Another Step in the Cogeneration Market

July 2013 saw Kentech Mexico secure a contract from SCS Proyectos, S.A.P.I. de C.V. (joint venture between Schrader Camargo/Sener) for the execution of Electrical Works associated with the construction of an 85 MW Cogeneration Plant in Cosoleacaque, Veracruz for Alpek, Mexico’s largest petrochemical group.

The new plant will feature two gas turbines, two heat recovery boilers and a backpressure steam turbine.

Kentech’s scope of works, being overseen by project manager Felix Garcia, includes LV / MV Switchgear, Cable Tray, Cabling, LV / MV Motors etc. and is scheduled to be completed in October 2013 after delivering an estimated 100,000 manhours.

This project further enhances Kentech’s Petrochemical expertise in Mexico, supporting the Mexican government’s initiative to encourage more efficient power generation.  The Alpek cogeneration plant will produce more than 85 megawatts of electricity and all the site’s steam requirements.
