In this article, John Gilley, COO, announces a key strategic appointment for our STS service line.
"Through our Specialist Technical Solutions (STS) service line, we offer optimised project delivery for project owners, operators and EPC service providers by delivering reliable, consistent technical solutions in the areas of Completions, Commissioning & Startup and Project Management Support Services.
It now gives us immense pride to announce the appointment of David Touhey as Global Service Line Director for STS. Since joining Kentech in January 2018, David has been leading the technology and commissioning centre of excellence integration into the existing Kentech STS service line. David has 17 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical, power and oil & gas sectors. He has worked across engineering, construction, and the commissioning and start-up phases of major projects on both the EPC and owner operator side of the project teams.
Prior to joining Kentech, David was a Commissioning & Start-Up Manager with SNC Lavalin where he spent 5 years on secondment to Imperial Oil, an affiliate of ExxonMobil. Prior to his commissioning roles, David was Systems Design Manager for Kentz in Alberta, Canada. He also consults and speaks on the alignment of project and business strategies and is a passionate advocate of collaborative project delivery methods in project management.
David completed his electrical trades certification at the same time as undertaking his electrical services engineering degree at Dublin Institute of Technology. He then went on to complete his Masters of Science (MSc) in Leadership and Management at Nottingham Trent University in the UK. He is member of Engineers Ireland and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Management Institute in the UK
