Phil Johnson is Country Manager for Australia. Phil joined Kentech in 2012 and has 30 years heavy industrial experience in a variety of industries ranging from water and wastewater utilities, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and oil and gas both onshore and offshore.
Phil is a Chartered Electrical Engineer with experience in design, project management, EPC and general management predominately working in Europe, the Middle East and Australia. Phil started and managed an Electrical and Instrumentation company in the UK in 1994 and was Managing Director until 2008, before selling the business and emigrating to Australia.
Phil studied electrical engineering part time at Liverpool John Moore’s University graduating in 1993 with a B.Eng Honours Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
In 1985 Frank Kent, Kentech’s Chairman, was instrumental in overseeing the development of the electrical and instrumentation works on the Dampier Field for Woodside. With the recent explosive growth in the Australian gas market, Kentech brings its extensive specialist electrical and instrumentation services to assist in the safe on time delivery of world scale projects.
Over the last few years Kentech has executed over 10 million manhours of safe, incident free works solely on large scale gas and LNG developments throughout the world. The services offered have included construction, hook-up, pre-commissioning, commissioning and maintenance and shutdown services.
In addition, over the last three years, Kentech has executed over 2 million manhours of safe, incident free works in the mining and metals sector. Projects have ranged from support services for field extraction to primary and secondary processing and export facilities.
