In 2004, Parsons Fluor Daniel (PFD) were awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services by Tengizchevroil (TCO) for the Asset Development Project, a combination of the Sour Gas Injection (SGI) and the Second Generation Plant (SGP) Projects at the giant Tengiz and Korolev Fields, located on the north eastern shore of the Caspian Sea. During the course of the project, PFD partnered with Kentech to carry out a series of contracts on various parts of the sites.  These included:-

  • SGI HVAC works: Kentech were contracted to execute a detailed engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of the HVAC system.
  • Natural Gas Gathering System (NGGS): SGI – This scope of works includes the field electrical and instrumentation services associated with the expansion of the wellheads at the Korlev, East and West Tengiz fields.  Our scope included the installation, testing, loop checking and commissioning services for forty one gathering wellheads, eight sour gas injection wellheads, nine metering stations, five midline value stations and one field control centre.
  • SGP Offsites: This contract covered the electrical and instrumentation work packages associated with the utilities for the SGP Project.  Kentech’s scope included the installation, testing and commissioning of a number of key areas of the SPG offsites, including the chemical storage area, fuel gas compressor area, flare area, interconnecting piperacks, crude product storage area and a number of associated substations.
  • SGP Completions works:  This package included electrical, instrumentation and telecommunications completions works plus loop checking and commissioning on the SGP Plant, including power generation, onplot utilities, crude stabilisation, gas processing, sulphur recovery and tail gas treating areas.
  • Calibration Works: SGI & SGP Projects: Throughout the duration of our presence on the SGI and SGP Projects, Kentech was contracted to provide instrument calibration and certification services.
  • SGI Tie-ins: Shutdown, tie-in and turnaround works in the critical 2007 tie-in window.
